“Auschwitz – We Must Not Forget” is the title of a programme organised by the International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust, aimed at students from secondary schools. This year, ten students from classes 3d1/3d2 are taking part: Julia Czapek, Marta Dajcz, Matylda Gawron, Magdalena Hawlicka, Lilianna Hyla, Antoni Kabelis, Anna Kurek, Lena Pietrzyńska, Piotr Węgrzyk and Szymon Zabłocki.
The programme aims to deepen students’ historical knowledge and awareness of the Museum and Memorial Site, while also developing their teamwork skills, as students from two schools in Oświęcim are taking part as well.
The programme will be carried out in two stages: a substantive stage, including workshops, lectures and guided visits, followed by a project stage. The final outcome will be a map presenting selected elements of the infrastructure surrounding Auschwitz I, accompanied by short descriptions. The programme is supported by academic staff from the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim, who provide expert guidance throughout its implementation.
