Unstoppable! Kruczek’s Volleyball Players in the Silesian Voivodeship Semifinals
Our volleyball players are showing no signs of slowing down! After their triumph in the city championships on Monday, they returned to action today for the Regional Tournament. Our school hosted teams from Powstańców Śląskich High School in Bieruń and Witold Pilecki II High School in Mikołów.
The competition kicked off with a match between the visiting teams. The first set went to the Mikołów squad, but Bieruń came close to forcing a tie-break in the second. Ultimately, the Mikołów players kept their composure and secured a 26:24 victory.
In the second match, our team faced Bieruń. From the very first minutes, they took control of the game, setting the pace and confidently winning 2:0.
The decisive clash was expected to be a tight battle between two undefeated teams. However, Kruczek dominated the court. Our girls put on a phenomenal performance, with strong serves proving to be the key to success. Spectators could hardly believe their eyes as the final score said it all – 25:5 and 25:3!

Valentine’s Day Concerts
On Valentine’s Day, or rather on Thursday, we had the pleasure of listening to four concerts for the school community and parents, prepared by the Kruczkowska Artistic Group.
The concerts were dedicated to our colleague and student Radek Waluscha. For him, the entire group of singing and playing students had been preparing for weeks to perform well-known and new hits by many Polish and international artists, in fresh and original arrangements.
We believe that participation in such initiatives, whether as performers, organizers, or audience members, helps young people develop the ability to recognize the needs of others, find ways to offer help, and adopt an active social attitude.
The wonderful atmosphere and the authenticity of all the performers helped reach the hearts of the audience, as the songs were sung from the heart and with heart, encouraging the building of relationships based on love, trust, and mutual support.
It was a wonderful and beautiful time spent together. Thank you!
We wish everyone a great and beautiful winter break! May it last as long as possible!
Martyna Staniszewska in the Cyprus Junior Championships!

Wiktoria Zagórska finished second in the U-18 triple jump competition with a new personal best—congratulations!
Blind Date
As always, the same time as last year, just before Valentine’s Day, we had a great time. Just like in a real Blind Date, participants chose their “soulmate”, who was sitting behind a curtain. It was entertaining and amusing.
We sincerely thank the Youth Council for great fun!
Goodbye our friend
With enormous sadness and grief we have recieved the news about the death of our music teacher Urszula Kawa. She worked in Kruczek from 1970 to 1991. In the memories of her friends about her there could be heard: “artistic soul, liked by students, a woman with fantasy, demanding teacher that took her job very seriously.” Urszula, we thank you for this amazing time that you spent with us. We extend our sincere condolences to the family.
Congratulations Filip!
Today, the students of Class 4d1 again gave their younger classmates presentations on the law, which they had prepared for October’s Law Day.
The occasion was special also because of the guests who visited Kruczek. They were Judge Michal Niedopytalski – election commissioner in Katowice I, and Dr. Michal Fijalkowski – director of the Delegation of the National Election Office in Katowice. Our guests came to present a congratulatory letter and an award to a student of class 4d1, Filip Albertyński, for achieving the highest score in the district stage of the nationwide contest “I choose elections” organized by the State Election Commission. A congratulatory letter was also received by Professor Olga Ryguła, a history teacher who prepared Filip for the competition. Filip will represent our school and the Silesian Voivodeship at the competition’s finals, which will be held on January 16 at the headquarters of the State Election Commission in Warsaw.
Silesian Day
Silesian Day took place at our school on December 18. This year we focused on the question: whether Silesian is a dialect or a language. The choice of the topic referred to the law passed by the Polish Parliament in April this year recognizing Silesian as a regional language, vetoed by the President of Poland. On the school corridor a week earlier, selected Silesian words were hung with a Polish translation. For the celebration of Silesian Day we invited Dr. Marcin Maciołek – assistant professor at the Institute of Linguistics at the University of Silesia in Katowice. We had the pleasure of listening to a lecture Silesian language in the Slavic continuum, from which it was clear that Silesian is a language, not a dialect. In the second part of the ceremony, students of class 3cd: Zuzanna Rupik, Emilia Skrzypczyk and Katarzyna Tokarska presented the text Godka jest lepszo by Alojzy Lysko, which they translated from Silesian into Polish. The translation was highly appreciated by our guest. Five teams of three took part in the contest, the winners of which were the students of the 3cd class, held in October, and as a reward, in addition to diplomas, they participated in an educational trip to the Museum of the City in Ruda Slaska. During a break, conference participants enjoyed Silesian kolaches made by the students, their mothers and grandmothers.
Exhibition of students’ works
The students of Class 3M prepared a project, within the framework of CAS (creativity, activity, volunteerism), entitled “Exhibition of small business and art works of Kruczek students.”
The exhibition featured individual works by our students from classes; 3m, 2m, 3e, 4d1 and 1c. These are the results of long personal work, their own invention and the use of various techniques.
Parents and students were invited to the evening ceremony at the School’s Graphics and Painting Gallery.
In Bronowice
On December 6, classes 3c and 3d3 participated in a trip to Rydlówka in Bronowice, where the famous wedding of Lucjan Rydel and Jadwiga Mikołajczykówna took place, and where the even more famous “Wedding” by Stanislaw Wyspianski was written. They also visited the Gallery of Polish Paintings of the 19th Century at the museum in the Cloth Hall, and watched a performance by the Juliusz Słowacki Theater entitled “The Great Gatsby” based on the novel by Francis Scott Fitzgerald.
2d2 & 2m in Kraków
On Thursday, 5th December, classes 2d1 and 2m went to Kraków with their caretakers. Despite the unfavorable weather, the trip begun with a stroll along the Wawel Hill, wherefrom a castle could be seen and admired. Next, we took off to Collegium Maius. Since the main exhibition was closed that day, we instead saw the temporary one titled “What do you ladies need all that for? About women at the Jagiellon University” with Mr. Marcin Bojda as our guide. The main goal for our trip was taking a visit at the Old Theater and seeing a performance called “The Earth is Flat”. The performance turned out to be quite controversial, it evoked a lot of strong emotions and not all liked it – as it tends to be at the theater. One thing is for certain – this trip will stay in our minds for quite some time; it was really great!
We fight for Radek
19 days
In November, our high school collectively said NO to violence. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to shaping this year’s campaign “19 Days Against Violence and Abuse.”
Workshops on peer intervention were held for 1st and 2nd-year classes. Members of the Youth Council shared knowledge on how to react in difficult or crisis situations, how to support peers, and where to seek help.
Students took part in a lecture led by Junior Sergeant Paweł Tutas from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Tychy. They gained knowledge about cyberbullying and learned how widespread it is. Our guest was also Mrs. Bożena Pruś – the Head of the Crisis Intervention Center in Tychy. During the debates, she shared information on psychological crises, support during such crises, and the role of a helping person.
During the 19 days, an informational campaign was simultaneously run on the Youth Council’s Instagram. Can jokes be considered violence? – we invite you to explore the infographics.
The campaign concluded with yesterday’s International Day of Kindness. During the break, the entire school community had the chance to participate in a concert. Students from classes 2M and 2D2 shared kind words and sweets prepared by representatives of the classes. At the same time, members of the Youth Council played the role of messengers for the Kindness Post.
Thank you all for your involvement!
American heart of Poland Workshop
Once again, students from our school had the opportunity to participate in cardiology workshops for high school students at the Polish-American Heart Clinics in Bielsko-Biała. Students were introduced to the world of medicine by the renowned cardiothoracic surgeon, Prof. Andrzej Bochenek. They took part in practical workshops, such as a surgical stitching course and a first aid course. Additionally, they toured operating rooms and witnessed real cardiothoracic surgeries. The students also had the chance to present their visions for the future of medicine. It was two days full of emotions and learning.
International Children’s Rights Day
International Children’s Rights Day. This is one of the most important days for the UNICEF organization, which is concerned with the rights of children around the world.
This year marks the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It was adopted in 1989 by the United Nations General Assembly and today ensures the realization, protection and respect of children’s rights.
As we celebrate this day, we remind the world that every child, regardless of origin, place of residence, color or religion, is entitled to the same rights – the rights of the child.
Best in English
Today, our school participated for the seventh time in the international English language competition “Best in English.” This competition is organized by a Czech organization and is sponsored by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic. For many years, our friends from other European countries have been testing their knowledge and skills in English in this competition. In a few weeks, we will see how we performed compared to other countries.

National Independence Day
This year’s celebrations of the National Independence Day began at 10:30 AM with a Mass
at “St Christopher church. After the Mass, a procession of flag bearers,
including our school delegation, marched from the Church to the Independence Monument
at the City Hall of Tychy.
The official ceremony at the Independence Monument started with the singing of the Polish
national anthem, as part of the nationwide “Independent to the
anthem” campaign.
New Councilmen
On November 8th, the 12th session of the Youth Council of Tychy took place. This session
was special due to the agenda – the oath was taken by students from Tychy high schools
elected as youth counselors, including Aleksandra Nurbagandow from the 4d1 class from
Kruczek. The ceremonial part of the session was led by the Vice-Chairman of the Youth
Council, Filip Albertyński – also a student of the 4d1 class at Kruczek. Alongside Vice-
Chairman Filip Albertyński, the new Vice-Chairwoman Julia Łuczun, a last year’s graduate of Kruczek,
joined the presidium. Congratulations and best of luck in your new roles!
19 Days Campaign
Our school once again joined the 19 days against violence and harm to children and young
people campaign! We are happy to be a part of this important initiative. Throughout the next
days we’ll be working together in order to promote the attitude of respect, tolerance and
mutual support.
The motto of the 2024 edition in Poland is: “Hey, it’s not a joke. This is violence!” In this
year’s 19 Days Campaign, we want to draw attention to the threats that arise from
misunderstanding, lack of knowledge, that not every joke, not every “funny” situation is all
right. Some “pranks”, jokes, entries, photos, videos posted on the Internet or on people’s
phones can hurt, cause pain and lead to serious consequences. This year we would like to
tell more about it and that way stop peer violence, raise awareness and educate.
2d1 in Wrocław
On 29th and 30th of October, 2d1 with teachers Agnieszka Grzegorek and Aleksandra Czmajduch visited Wrocław.
We started the trip with a walk through the Wrocław Zoo, where one of the highlights was the
famous Africarium. Then, after passing through “Hala Stulecia” and the picturesque park, we
reached our next destination – the Japanese Garden, which, in the colors of autumn, turned
out to be even more beautiful than usual. At the end of the day, we watched a multimedia
presentation about the “Panorama Racławicka” in the Small Rotunda
The next day, we began by exploring Ostrów Tumski, followed by the Old Town. After a long
day of walking around the city, we concluded the trip with a visit to Hydropolis, the
knowledge center about water.

We are pleased to announce that our student, Laura Orawska from class 3cd, together
with her team, won the gold medal at the World Championships of the International
Pole and Aerial Sports Federation in the GROUPS 14+ category in Uppsala, Sweden.

have passed but were once among us. On this day, October 29th, we also remember
the Principals, Teachers, Staff, and Students of our school. You may no longer be with
us, but you will remain forever in our hearts
The Law Day
The Law Day, which we celebrated today, was aimed at promoting legal knowledge, awakening young people’s interest in the subject of law, and, above all, introducing students to information on the functioning of the institutions of the judiciary.
During today’s Law Day, young people had the opportunity to listen to lectures and watch presentations by students from classes 4d1 and 3d1. The students also participated in meetings with Mr. Krzysztof Marek – prosecutor of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Gliwice, with Mr. Andrzej Dziuba – senator of the Republic of Poland and former president of Tychy, with Judge Maja Elsenbahn-Liszka – vice president of the District Court in Tychy.
Some of the D1 class students see their future in the legal profession. Perhaps the knowledge they received today will help them make the right choice.

After touring the Parliament, the high school graduates also visited the National Museum.
First Former's Day
First-former’s day is always a special event, full of unforgettable impressions and emotions. This time it was the Student Council that decided to make the experience even more extraordinary. And you have to admit that they succeeded perfectly 😊.
During the Day, first graders faced a variety of tasks that required from them not only knowledge, but also sometimes cleverness, creativity and even real competition. There were quizzes, puzzles, sports and artistic competitions. Each task was an opportunity for fun and amazing integration.
Many thanks to the organizers for the great fun and unforgettable experience 😊.
Botanical Camp
Students of class 2 c on 16-18.09.2024 took part in a botanical camp in Żabnica.
The classes were led by Mr. Dr. Mariusz Wierzgoń, a researcher at the University of Silesia in Katowice in cooperation with Ms. Elżbieta Pękała.
Observation of the natural world during the field classes allowed students to learn more about the fascinating world of plants and observe their diversity and ecological relationships. Certainly, the practical skills gained in the field will be used by the students more than once in developing their research skills. In a busy schedule of activities we also found time to relax and have fun together. It was an unforgettable trip 🙂
Swiss Adventure
On September 9-15, students of class 3e and other third grades participated in a science camp in Switzerland.
The highlight of the program was a visit to the European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN, where we attended interesting lectures, met CERN employees, learned what research at the Center is all about, and interactively explored the laws of physics using the attractions of the exhibition section. During our trip we visited the Swiss capital Bern, as well as Geneva, Lausanne with the Olympic Museum and the medieval Chillon Castle. We also had the opportunity to experience the beauty and power of nature at the Rheinfall or Trummelbach waterfalls, while walking along the shores of Lake Geneva in Montreux or taking the cable car to the Aiguille du Midi (3842 meters above sea level) and the ice cave of France’s largest glacier, Mer de Glace. A highlight of the trip was also a visit to the world’s first chocolate factory – Maison Cailler.
The trip was, in all respects, a very valuable and beautiful experience for all participants.

The runners, wowed by our applause, covered the last kilometer of the race with a smile on their face. Among the runners were also our students, graduates, as well as a teacher. Congratulations!!
Back to school
After the summer break we are back in school with lots of energy, enthusiasm as well as will to study and work.
Inauguration of the school year was led by students of classes 2d4 and 2e, and the audience was awed by the Kruczek’s Artistic Group. The headteacher, Mrs Joanna Wojtynek gave everyone a warm welcoming speech. The audience also got to listen to a history lesson performed by Filip Alebrtyński. The 1st of September is the date the World War II began. We can’t let ourselves forget about that.
And lastly, the first graders in our school got extra attention, we all wish them good luck in the new school.

Erasmus+ “Caring School – United in Diversity”
On April 14-21, a group of 11 students under the supervision of Ms. Agnieszka Gemborys and Ms. Katarzyna Ścisłowicz spent wonderful moments in Greece on the beautiful island of Sifnos. The trip was held within the framework of the Erasmus+ project “Caring School – United in Diversity,” and the theme of this Polish-Greek-Spanish exchange was “In a healthy body, a healthy spirit.”
The young people and their teachers participated in a number of activities whose main goal was to improve physical and mental health. We took part in meetings with a nutritionist and psychologist on the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle, cooking and pottery workshops. We spent our time actively during numerous hikes around the island and during traditional games and stretching exercises on the beach. We had many opportunities to learn about the lifestyle and traditions of the inhabitants of the Cyclades – we visited a farm and learned how to milk goats, how traditional bread is baked or cheese is made, took part in a traditional “panigiri” festival, and explored the island’s most important sites.
Through this intensive program, we acquired many valuable skills, gained wonderful experiences and met wonderful people 😍.

Their efforts were also appreciated by the Jury of the competition, which awarded them the 1st PLACE among all participants. They also impressed the so-called hidden jury, which awarded them a SPECIAL AWARD.
But not the end of these successes, they also won the BEST Actress award for HELENA PYRSCH and BEST ACTOR award for JAKUB MLECZKA.
Our sincere congratulations 🎉 👏
